Lakewood Ranch, Florida – Lakewood Ranch is an 8,500 acre master-planned community comprised of seven villages located just north of Sarasota, FL. Since 2005, every new village built in Lakewood has been built green. These homes are healthier and more energy efficient than traditional homes but still convenient, comfortable and even stylish.
Each of the seven villages of Lakewood Ranch features distinctive neighborhoods that offer a wide variety of home designs to choose from single and multi-family homes to townhomes and villas. Homes range in size from around 1,000 sq. ft. to 10,000 sq. ft. Amenities of the individual neighborhoods vary but may include parks, trails, dog parks, fitness centers, lakes, club houses, golf courses and more.
Outdoor activities are an important aspect of this community and Lakewood Ranch has first class facilities for recreational sports. Both the Sarasota Polo Club and the Sarasota International Cricket Club are located within Lakewood. The polo club has nine polo fields (130 acres), an open pavilion and clubhouse. The cricket club’s permanent laser leveled cricket facility is considered worthy of world class competition.
