La Cuentista Green Community

Albuquerque, New Mexico – Situated on some of the United States’ most dramatic landscape is the green community of La Cuentista. La Cuentista, Spanish for storyteller, is a green community in New Mexico that integrates the area’s culture and history with an eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle.

Homes in La Cuentista are built by one of seven local custom builders. All builders are committed to using green building techniques while keeping each home distinct. Phase one of this green community is comprised of just 140 homes on 47 acres of land. Future plans include four more building phases which will consist of townhomes, estate homes, duplexes and live/work homes.

Builders for La Cuentista actually joined together to form the La Cuentista I LLC which developed an agreement to use New Mexico’s Build Green Guidelines while employing the latest technologies and resources. Improved indoor air quality, resource conservation and energy efficiency are among the group’s highest priorities.

La Cuentista was named one of 2007’s Parade of Homes Signature Community.

Green Credentials:
Using cutting edge technologies, all homes and buildings in La Cuentista must earn a minimum bronze rating with the Green Standards of National Association of Home Builders.
