Pringle Creek Green Community

Salem, Oregon – Pringle Creek Community is a green development in Northwest Oregon with over 130 residential lots. The home sites will be used to build energy efficient housing that respects the natural environment and simultaneously keeps the cost of living low.
Pringle Creek combines a wide variety of elements to become the distinct community it is. Homeowners have numerous housing types to choose from including single family, tall houses, cottages, live work studio lofts and even single family net-zero homes. Among the eight different building areas will be walk able neighborhoods, a creek, wetlands, community gardens and refurbished historical buildings.
The Village Center is where people in the community gather to shop the farmer’s market, grab a cup of coffee and socialize with other Pringle Creek residents. Several other mixed-use buildings are in the works for this area and will include both residential and commercial areas surrounded by courtyards and other open space.
As a sustainable community, Pringle Creek is a constant work in progress, but the developers have outlined 35 sustainable goals for the community to continue to strive for. The goals fall into three categories; conservation & preservation, planning for community and building for the environment. Examples of those 35 goals include revitalize Pringle Creek’s natural habitat, develop an entire neighborhood of houses that are carbon neutral and build a solar powered bio-diesel co-op fueling station.
The National Association of Home Builders has recently named Pringle Creek Community as Green Land Developer of the Year.
